Chris and I went along to an
Alpine lecture by the British Mountaineering Council this evening. It was a fairly good insight into mountaineering in the Alps and Himalayas, dragging people out of crevasses, and avoiding avalanches, though by the end of it we were desperate to escape to the pub.
